Those who seem unprepared to meet future demands for sustainable products and services were hit hard by the report ‘Taking Sustainability to the Consumer’.

See this version of the story, by Madeleine White, for the Globe and Mail: PETA to launch porn website: Is this still about animal rights?

The animal rights group, known for its naturalist ways, has registered the domain name peta.xxx and plans to launch a pornography website in December that “draws attention to the plight of animals.”

Not surprisingly, many feminists (in the broadest sense of the term) have objected. The Read more…

A $40 million computer tells you youre chasing an earthquake, but you dont believe. Capt Mancuso, The Hunt for Red October, Paramount Pictures (1990)

One of the toughest jobs in any country, any company is gathering, hoarding, protecting information that may give them an edge against them. And we must be doing a helluva job because organizations and individuals are accumulating data and meta data at an ever-increasing rate. The sheer volume thats coming at us is causing us to experience information overloademails to answer, virtual friends to contact, YouTube videos to watch, games to play, movies to sneak, reports to read/digest, stuff you have to find/do in the virtual worldjust in case. Computers, smartphones, tablets are helping to accelerate our hunger for more data and our ability to create new/better information.

That’s according to New Mexico State University’s J. Tim Query, an associate professor of finance and business law, who decided to test assertions on both sides about the correlation between driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants and the number of uninsured motorists.

New Mexico is one of three states — including Utah and Washington — that allows immigrants to apply for a driver’s license without proving their legal residence.

Gov. Susanna Martinez has proposed that the state stop issuing driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants. That issue will be

UPS has announced that it is to purchase 100 emission-free electric vans for its California operation. The CEO of Electric Vehicles International (EVI), Ricky Hanna, commented on the deal:

“We are proud to provide 100 California made vehicles to UPS beginning in January. UPS is an industry leader in implementing alternative fuel vehicles and we are excited to partner with them on this deployment.”

EVI is still a relatively small company but it’s a significant account win for the electric commercial vehicle manufacturer that operates by putting their green technology into chassis made by other companies. It’s not something UPS went into blindly either.

Key chains are a favourite among most of the promotional products. They are small, simple (as per need), affordable and sometimes lasting. There are a number of customisations available for them such as one can have a leather one or a plastic or a vinyl or maybe sometimes in silver and gold. This is the thing marketing companies’ aim for—to make the customer familiar with their company’s name. So, given a situation, that particular customer is likely to choose a product whose manufacturing company he’s associated with than a random product. This ty Read more…
