Administaff’s Business Confidence Survey shows small business owners are regaining a positive outlook.
The recent Business Confidence Survey released by human resources provider Administaff indicates that small businesses are regaining their confidence as the economy begins to pull out of the recession.
More than 39 percent of small business owners said they expect the economy to turn around this year, and 44 percent believe this turnaround will take place in 2011.
The survey of CFOs, CEOs and other executives at Administaff’s small and midsized clients was conducted late last month. When asked about their biggest short-term concerns, the economy was still the dominant worry for 71 percent of small business owners. However, this percentage was a decrease from the 77 percent who answered that way last October.
When it came to meeting goals, the results provided good news for small business owners – 72 percent of owners and managers said they are meeting or exceeding their 2010 performance plans. Only 58 percent said so the last time the survey was conducted.
Another recent survey from International Communications Research found a similar positive outlook from small business owners. In that study, 73 percent said their outlook on the future of their business was positive, despite the fact that companies were not doing as well as they did last year.
