The director of operations at Gatwick-based budget airline easyJet has resigned. Cor Vrieswijk, who has held the post for four years, has been replaced by Warwick Brady, the airline’s procurement director.

Vrieswijk’s resignation comes in the wake of delayed and cancelled flights this summer.

A spokesperson for easyJet said: “After almost four years as easyJet’s Director of Operations, Cor Vrieswijk has resigned and easyJet has agreed to his early departure so that he can better balance his work and private life in Holland. Cor has presided over significant change within easyJet and has led our operations function during a period that has seen our fleet grow by over 50 aircraft and our penetration across Europe increase. One of the most important things you should know creditors look at to determine your company’s creditworthiness is your business credit score.

Does your business have a positive credit file established with Small Business Equifax, Corporate Experian, and Dun and Bradstreet? If you’ve passed the Shoe Carnival store in Eastland Place on North Green River Road lately, you may have not recognized it.

The Broadbent Company in Indianapolis, which owns Eastland Place, has committed to the Shoe Carnival a new store front, said Mark Lemond, the shoe retailer president and chief executive officer.

Though the work is about two weeks from completion, the new facade already makes a noticeable difference in the store’s outside appearance.

Lemond said the work began two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the Shoe Carnival is in the process of negotiating a new lease with Broadbent.

“We haven’t finalized the negotiations,” Lemond said.

If the Shoe Carnival signs a new lease, he said, the Evansville-based company will remodel the store’s interior in its latest format, starting in January or February.

The Shoe Carnival has been located in Eastland Place the past 28 years — since 1982, shortly after the company was founded.

The publicly traded Shoe Carnival (SCVL on Nasdaq) currently has 312 stores in 30 states.

Now, let’s first cover the basics.

Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce is to stage a week of events celebrating business in the city in October under the banner ‘Business by the Sea’.

For four days from October 12, a variety of daily events will introduce non-members to the chamber’s commercial, social and influential advantages.

Small business owners are becoming acutely aware of the importance of establishing business credit scores that are completely separate from their personal credit scores.

In addition, many have found this to be a viable solution to overcome personal credit challenges that prevent them from obtaining credit.
