Real Estate Gurus and Real Estate Seminars

Real estate seminars advertise their worthiness by proclaiming to all who will listen that “the skills and strategies you will learn here are literally worth their weight in gold.”  Their “students” will learn “secrets” of how to make huge profits in real estate, and become wealthy almost overnight.

Armed with these strategies and skills, seminar graduates will supposedly have the knowledge of how to profit from any market condition.

Seminar instructors stress that not only will these strategies overcome up or down markets, but will arm their student’s with knowledge few others are familiar with. Knowledge that will enable them to close profit making deals others did not consider worthy of pursuing.

Untold numbers of books have been sold with titles that allude to making millions in real estate the easy way, such as “no money down” ( buying real estate with other peoples money,) learning “specialized” negotiating skills that can close profitable deals others have failed at, and achieving amazing success just by following easy to follow  step by step instructions.

Is there really an easier and more profitable way to buy real estate, other than through one’s cash and a lenders loan? Read between the lines when you read these books or attend seminars. There are always disclaimers stated somewhere along the line, such as “results are not guaranteed, or “success is based upon one’s own knowledge and effort.”

We are not saying here that all books and seminars offering advice on how to profit from real estate do not have some worth, but many are close to being outright scams, and some are actual scams.

Let’s face it, how can you believe the statements many of these so-called real estate gurus, when they make statements such as “my methods of buying and selling real estate have made me a millionaire many times over, and my real estate holdings are worldwide.” Then comes the most ridiculous statement of all. “ and because of my success I have decided to share my knowledge with you, the buyer of my books, and the purchaser of my instructional DVDs so you can experience the joys of great wealth as I have.”

Believe me, most of these guys have accumulated their “great wealth” by selling you their books and DVDs, not by investing in real estate. After all, when you think about it, their “pot of gold” is in the pockets of the naïve dreamers that still think there are easy ways to get rich quick.

Common sense should tell you that if becoming a real estate millionaire almost overnight is so easy, why aren’t MOST real estate agents millionaires? Maybe they haven’t read those books, or attended these guru seminars?

Want to be a successful real estate investor? Take real estate courses and get as much information you can from RELIABLE SOURCES about the buying, selling and negotiating process. Arm yourself with a trusted team of advisers, such as a Realtor, real estate attorney and CPA, and you are on the right track to true success, if not overnight riches.

Certainly, real estate investing can be very profitable if done the right way. There are no shortcuts to success.
