Obama administration puts focus on helping entrepreneurs achieve success with new apointees.

In an effort to help small business owners, the Obama administration has named members of a special council tasked with spurring innovation.

Commerce Secretary Gary Locke recently introduced members of the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, in an effort to move forward President Obama’s larger plan to help those interested in starting their own businesses turn ideas into real business success.

Locke broke the news for entrepreneurs at the U.S.

Small businesses are subject to tougher borrowing conditions according to the Federal Reserve

Many small businesses have had a difficult time receiving funding since the recession began, and according to recent data from the Federal Reserve, there are numbers to back the claims.

According to the Fed’s “Terms of Business Lending,” the average rates on small business and industrial loans worth approximately $500,000 were 3.5 percent higher than the federal fund rate.

The Golden State’s SBA administrator says that an increase in small business loans will help economy.

The head of the U.S. Small Business Administration for California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii and Guam has recently brought a new level of focus to California, given how much the state is struggling during the economic downturn.

Elizabeth Echols, who was just recently named to the regional leadership post, called attention to the state’s dire financial straits and said that more government-backed lending was necessary to help jump-start job creation.

I wrote a couple weeks ago that I will be starting to build business credit from scratch and I will be starting today. So the first corp we will be working on is a texas corp. I will be incorporating the business entity today. This should take 24-72 hours. Once that is done I will get the tax id, duns number and phone line. We will be getting DNB credit monitoring and business credit builder since it is now $69 a month. I am incorporating in Texas because I am doing this corp for a friend of mine who lives in Houston. I personally prefer New Mexico, Florida and Delaware but he prefers not to get a virtual office and all that jazz. Read more…
